Neocons need someone to hate at both home and abroad; but are willing to put that aside when it comes to turning a buck. Basically they are conditioned to believe American liberals are communists while being totally blind to their own fascist agenda.

That is a great question, and I agree with you!!! The company I work for is one of those companies that sends work to China. They still have plants in the United States, but I don't expect that to last very much longer. I happen to be liberal, and I don't think capitalism is a good system at all. It is good for a few, but it is harmful to the vast majority of people!!! I also think that the real neocons are pure evil. I am not talking about the regular people who think along those lines, but don't really mean any harm, I am talking about the neocons on the highest levels...the people who really run things, and really pull the strings, who already control most of the money, who own the Federal Reserve and the World Bank, and who will enslave us all if we let them.

"..Leo Strauss (September 20, 1899 – October 18, 1973), was a German-born Jewish political philosopher who specialized in the study of classical philosophy. He spent most of his career as a Political Science Professor at the University of Chicago, where he taught several generations of devoted students, as well as publishing fifteen books. Since his death, he has come to be regarded as an intellectual source of neoconservatism in the United States.

In 2004 Adam Curtis produced a three-part documentary for the BBC on the threat from organised terrorism called the Power of Nightmares. This television documentary claimed that Strauss' teachings, among others, influenced neo-conservative and thus, United States foreign policy, especially following the September 11, 2001 attacks. Two students of Strauss, Wolfowitz and William Kristol, are cited, and Kristol discusses Strauss's influence in the film. Since they were students of Strauss, the documentary claims that their later political views and actions are a result of Strauss' philosophy and teaching. The central theme of the documentary is that the neoconservatives created myths to make the Soviet Union and terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda (Arabic: القاعدة‎) appear to be better organized and coordinated, as well as more threatening than they actually were, and that such "nightmares" enabled the neoconservatives to gain disproportionate power in the Reagan and George W. Bush administrations...."

I never got the meaning of the word neocon. Is it like a slur on people who believe in conservatism over liberalism? Anyway I believe in conservatism over liberalism as a better ideology to run a government. But really we have neither one although I see our government turning more liberal over the years. Liberalism has similarities to Communism I think. The similarities are that liberals believe that people in government are better qualified to run our lives. What I mean by that is government knows better how to spend our hard earned money by taking as much as they can through taxes and still leave us a little penitence so we have some dignity. They think it is their job to dispense this money in social programs that make everyone equal. Kind of like socialism. No one should be any richer then another person even though they may have worked harder for what they have. So the bigger government is the better it is for the country. Because they know whats best for us. Everyone would get so called free health care etc etc. On the other hand that seeming to be forgotten Ideology called conservatism believes in smaller government. do things on a local level rather then through big government bureaucracies. Let people run their own lives as long as they obey the laws keep more of what they earn build bussniess hire other people in other words let people run the country rather then government. I know I am being kind of simplistic but that's what I see.Socialism has been tried many times and has always failed. Look at New Orleans for example before Katrina it was run by liberals for over 40 years no interference from conservative ideas. By their way of thinking and practice New Orleans should have been a utopia a model city for all other cities to look up to. Yet it had one of the highest crime rates, highest amount of people on welfare just getting by and a high rate of unemployment. I'm not picking on New Orleans but just trying to make a point on what unteathered liberism can do to a city or a state. The main concern I have right now is I don't like the hatred being spread that devides us so much. I guess I'd like to see people get along better even though we differ in some ideas. Can we just agree to disagree? Now government wants to tell us what we can and cannot eat? Hummm that's kind of scary to me. peace out

Communism and socialism are both liberal ideas.

They fall left of center and there for it is an easy line from liberals to Communists.

Are all liberals Communists? no

Are Communists Liberal? yes.

now it is the theory of communism that is a liberal one, in practice it does not work, even China is a capitalist nation who uses Communism to control its people.

it is not fair to label all libs as commies, but it is equal unfair to label all Conservatives Neocons.

Neocons aren't the only people who own businesses. Besides, most republicans will only harp after they have been provoked by some idealistic liberal telling them what to do with THEIR money that THEY earned. If you want to alter the economic policy, get your azz out there and get in the business of...whatever. That way you can make jobs, trade with, and deal with whoever, WHEREVER, YOU want.

Wadafucksamattawitchu? If the libs admitted that they were communists, that would go against everything they believe (?) in. That would be admitting there is truth, and you know how liberals believe in the concept that "there is no truth.", especially anything that comes from a lib's lips. (And the Chinese have no use for their comrades from America, either!)

Small minds that are more comfortable (or entertained) by slinging worn-out labels like adolescents.

But yes, good question. Excellent question!

Yahoo Answers Politics is less of a viable forum than it is just a rant room and flame war arena.

Why do people begin questions with "why do neocons..."

or "why do liberals..." or "why do conservatives..." as if every single liberal, conservative, moderate, libertarian, socialist, or whatever all held the same view?

It's about as assumption-laced and bigoted as saying "why do black people..." as if all black people acted the same.

Bigotry against differing political philosophies is just as divisive, ignorant, and insidious as those pertaining to race or religion.
