You would not be able to get PC2100 with any other bus speed, the bus speed of the RAM determines what its called. If you got DDR RAM with a bus speed of 166Mhz, it would be called PC2700, if it was 200Mhz it would be called PC3200.

It does matter if you were to get ram with a different Bus speed. It all depends on the motherboards capability. Usually you ALWAYS want to get the same exact ram piece as the one you already have in the computer. Not exactly by the same company, but rather a DDR PC2100 133mhz. There are compatibility issues with certain motherboards and sometimes your computer will either not recognize it when you turn on the computer, the ram stick will not operate at the bus speed allocated but rather 133mhz, or your computer will just make a continuous beeping noise, and not turn on at all.

Depending on your Bios version and Processor, you would be able to tone down the bus speed. i have and amd and phoenix bios software that is beautiful for overclocking. In your case it would be underclocking, but well, oh well :P
