8 straight hours sleep allows for the necessary relaxation for the body to heal and rejuvenate itself.
I've found that I can dream at 4 hours and sleeping twice within a day 4 hours each time allows me to feel I've gotten enough sleep. But I've found that at some point, I need to be in the habit of sleeping a good solid 7 to 9 hours to feel completely stress free, and ultimately, healthy.

It depends on you I think they say 6 - 10 hours but 8 as an average, it doesn't just depend on how many hours you get but also the environment you're in.
I personally found it hard to get a good nights sleep when I first moved house because it was too quiet. Having said that I couldn't sleep well in a busy train terminal!

I don't have a pattern at all. I just sleep what ever time I feel sleepy and wake up at what ever time I like. But I run for this week is 4 - 8 hours of sleep on a 24 hrs cycle.
Just tried to sleep at whatever time and without alarm; and see what time is good for you and your schedule. Least then 5 hours everyday for a week is a problem.

It varies from person to person, but most doctors would suggest at least 8 hours of sleep a night, more if possible.
I consider that I am doing very well if I can get six hours during my daytime sleeping hours. (I work 4 nights a week.) I try to make up as much of my sleep deficit as possible on my weekends.

8 hours normally, but as has been said before it varies. It all depends on how your body has been conditioned. I was in the Army for 24 years and I can survive on 2 - 3 hours sleep becuase my body has been use to it. I try to sleep longer but my body knows it can't. so I wake up.

7-8 hours for the human body to function properly. Depending on your age and activity, too much sleep will make you more tired. Start with 7 and see how you feel for a week.

In general 8 - 10 hrs. However some of us need to sleep longer (9 -11 hours) to feel well, while others can sleep much less (5-6 hours) without experiencing negative effects.
