it was working then out of no where just stopped and little speaker icon thats by clock no longer there

Delete and reinstall the sound drivers.

hi.
Go to -> "Control Panel">"Sounds and audio devices" and check the "Place volume icon in the task bar". You'll have the sound icon by your clock.
Uninsalling sound card:
"Control Panel">"Sounds and audio devices" > "Hardware" tab > select your audio device from the list > Properties> Driver tab> Uninstall.
Then restart the computer. It will find an appropriate driver and will install automaticly.
If it doesn't work please use your audio driver cd.
Or
see the mark of your audio device on the motherboard(inside of the computer box) and find them web site and download the driver for your device.
