my favorite is "sing". it was first performed for sesame street and also sang in the muppet show. big bird used to sing it and i would sing it to my son before he would go to sleep. he is now 33 years old and still remembers it.....lol
SING (Carpenters)
Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud
Sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad.
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last
Your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not
Good enough for anyone
Else to hear
Just sing, sing a song.
Sing, sing a song
Let the world sing along
Sing of love there could be
Sing for you and for me.
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last
Your whole life long

Karen Carpenter was an incredible vocal talent. She was also an accomplished drummer. They have so many beautiful songs (I have 82) that I just cannot pick one. Maybe Superstar, just to mention one.

Sing.....
When I was younger my mother use to put the record on and hold me on her lap or dance with me in her arms around the room and sing me that song. It's weird that you don't remember everything from when you are young but there are a few memories that you will always hold close to your heart.

"Close to You" and many more. What a clear beautiful voice Karen had! I had the pleasure of hearing them sing in Ft. Lauderdale many years ago. Didn't know until then that Karen could play the drums as well...

"Solitaire" is a very great song. it's all moody and a bit country. not very known though... if you don't know it, I strongly recommand you listen to it. I believe it was included in the "ballad" compilation that was issued a couple years ago.
