it would depend on the age and what kind but an r1 or ducati can range from 4000 to 6000 and up, and a ducati can be up to 20,000...just my guess on the r1 but ducatis can be that high for the top of the line of course, (I am talking used)

Depends on the make and the year ! You can get a decent R1 for between 4-5 thousand for an early model, And about 7-9 thousand for a Ducati early model 916,or 996

Because it's a tri bike, the market is somewhat smaller for used bicycles. I'd say $500-600 is probably more of a fair price, but if the bike fits (this is a very big IF) then it may be the way to go. Unless you want to wait around forever checking craigslist until another one comes up. If you're serious about competing in triathlons, it's better to get a bike and start training now rather than later.
