I don't think this way, but you obviously do!!!!! That's too bad. I will agree with you on one thing....Some western people are ethnocentric and will always be that way. No use in wasting time trying to change peoples views, cause they will always some what stick to their preconceived notions.

If you mean by western, white, then they view Africans this way for several reasons: 1. They have been taught it; 2. They are resting on a pedistal of fake superiority that demands Africans be viewed and treated as less human; 3. They feel threatened by Africans on some level or other, or 4, They can more easily overide their moral conscience as they exploit them, if they believe in the African's inferiority.

That's a broad a generalization as the one you are accusing the West of. Many people view Africa as backwards, but I think very few people in the West or elsewhere view African people as 'less human'. The 19th century has been over for a long time. Don't judge all Westerners by the standards of working class Mississippians.

That is because those two are shown to us. Whenever we get news about Africa or advertisments its either for the animals or people that are dying of starvation.
Unfortunately it is also our responsibility because we are left waiting from others to inform us about what is going on in Africa instead of trying to learn more aside from those two huge issues that are being put every once in a while from news and organizations.

If you do not want to be misinformed, misled you need to do the research and at least start viewing Africa that way it deserves to be seen.

Personally I do not believe ANY person anywhere in the world is less human. That is a person philosophy and I want to stick to that.

i think of physiologically, we can agree that there are undemanding alterations between adult males and girls folk, no matter the geographical / cultural history. a similar makeup of hormones is to blame for giving women folk and adult males the two the sentiments and muscular tissues they have, although this is not the muscular tissues that governs the sentiments. human beings of distinctive races each and every inherit the genetics of that race, which has progressed one after the different over the centuries from different races. This creates a trend of growing to be those with comparable epidermis colorations, muscular tissues, skeletal shapes, and so on. yet i'm rather beneficial the actual epidermis coloration isn't in any way because of the emotional or physiological alterations between the races. exciting question although!

Do we now? I am a western people and I do not view African folks as less human! If this is a klutzy attempt to accuse westerners of racism, it is sort of lame. This question in itself shows prejudice on your part.

It's true that policy-wise and media-wise, western portrayls of Africa and Africans tend to show Africans as inferior, helpless, and even destructive and violent savages. It's true that western countries put alot of aid money into Africa, but in exchange, they get economic incentives and paternalistic control of different types of programs. The way that Africa is portrayed in the west is regrettable, and is based in inaccurate and racist ideas about "nature" and cultural evolution that justified clolnial rule to Europeans.

Actually all people think that they are superior to others. It has always been that way and probaly always will, unfortunately. I am quite confident the Africans also think they are superior. By the way, Africa is a continent with at least 5 native races. Many Africans are "European." Orientals arrived on Madagascar before Columbus. The Kung! San (Bushmen) were the original inhabitants of much of Africa. The Negrillo (Pigmies) were living in the jungles. The Bantu, (What you are probably refering to) completed their southward invasion of Africa about the same time the Europeans arrived in South Africa. I would guess they all think they are the superior race.

Which "western people" are you talking about? I certainly have never said, or thought so .

Generalizing about westerners is just as bad as anyone viewing people in Africa as less human.

I am not sure why you are asking this question. Who in the west looks at African people as "Less Human" Doesn't Africa get the majority of their aid from America?
