Just a fun question for everyone to ponder. Wich do you like better Star Trek or Star Wars and why? Which is your favorite star wars movie? Wich is your favorite star trek series/movie?

They're both equally great sci-fi franchises but if I had to choose, I would go with Star Trek.
Star Trek is much more thought provoking and it tackles a lot of issues about human existence. Star Trek comes in more flavors and doesn't always try to be epic. There are episodes that deal with all kinds of facets of being human. All the series can make you see life in a new way.
Star Wars (the original trilogy) was exciting and its romanticism moved us all but it hasn't influenced my life as much as Star Trek. It's fun but it hasn't changed me.

I think Star Wars is a lot better than Star Trek. I have never been able to get into Star Trek even though my brother and boyfriend are big fans.
My favorite Star Wars movie is Return of the Jedi. Everything about that movie is awesome! Another reason I think Star Wars is better than Star Trek....I think Hans Solo is hot!

Star Wars is simply a shoot em up Western in outer space. Star Trek is an ideology about what we can make the future into for ourselves and our children, told through Metaphor and Morality plays.
It also has the ability to capture the imagination and with Science no less. Star Wars doesn't have any of that, not for me anyway.

I like them both for different reasons. Star Wars is more rooted in fantasy/mythological themes. Star Trek is more of a straight sci-fi program. Star Wars is more epic, high adventure, Star Trek is interesting in a more detached, cerebral kind of way.

Star Trek and it's spinoffs...specially The Next Generation. I just love the characters and the genius of the creator Gene Rodenberry.
