Now that the bombshell has been dropped that he was raised as a muslim and his grandfather was one as well. And the fact that he lied and tried to cover it up.

Even if he didn't have this er problem I wouldn't vote for him. Nor any liberal for that matter. He has no experience. He is still wet behind his big ears lol. Besides Hillary will chew him up like an ole hound dog on a pork chop. It was her crew that dug that up and spread it around. I'm waiting to see if he retaliates or folds like a little boy. Hillary has a lot of skeletons in her closet shouldn't be hard for him to dig a few of them up. Should be fun to watch.

You know what is funny? The anti-muslim sentiment in this country was a sliver of what is now before 9/11 - but now ANY muslim is an open target for bigots and those who are paranoid.

Don't get me wrong there are bad muslims - just like there are bad christians, jews, catholics, etc.

By taking the proverbial temperature of this country he was probably trying keep the heat down a little by covering his past - can you blame him? If you were raised muslim would you be running through the deep white south or redneck town USA making it a known fact? Probably not.

As a country we have a reason to spite terrorists - muslim, domestic or otherwise - but what some people are losing site of is that this is AMERICA...freedom of religion is one of the most important blocks in the foundation of this country.

Remember: all muslims are not raised to kill anyone that does not believe as they do, not all muslims are fanatic fundamentalists.

Should we bash Muhammed Ali now because he is a muslim? How about Kareem Abdul Jabar? Where would it all end?

If you want to be worried about a democratic presidential nominee, you should keep your eye on Hillary...

He didn't lie and try to cover it up...He went to a Muslim school between the ages of 6-10!!!! I went to a Catholic school, but that doesn't make me a practicing Catholic, or any kind of Catholic for that matter!!

If ones grandfather was a Nazi, does that make him/her a Nazi, too??

Find a real problem with the candidacy of Obama or back off!

For that matter...what difference would it make if he was actually a practicing Muslim?? (He's not; he's--sortof--a Christian) Some terrorists are Muslim. Some terrorists are Christian. Some are atheists.

What is your point???

Honestly I really don't care if he is or was a Muslim. I don't know if he "lied and tried to cover it up" like you are claiming but if he did that disturbs me. If he is really a genuine person he would not hide such a thing. There is a sense of Anti Muslim sentiment here in America but to hide something like for political gains is just low. Presidents and Presidential candidates need to be held to higher standards. For example Bill Clinton. If the president is not willing to tell the truth under oath then that makes the oath point less. If he isn't gonna do it why should anyone else?

At this point I think its too early to tell.
Even something like that isnt a big factor with the elections a year away.
Wait until they start digging up stuff on everybody else, this will pail in comparison.

Obamas really been mr Mysterious so far. When he gets out there on the campaign trail thats when we'll get a feel about him.
Just like Hilary..
and Guliani -- yes Im rooting for him -- but hes going to have a rough time with some of his views Pro choice Pro gay, that his own party is going to be dropping the hammer on him

And Hilary -- its going to be interesting to see how "open" and "welcoming" she comes off when the heat starts to rise.

But still to early to make a difference.
If hes worthy of being president he'll sidestep the issue somehow..they always do

By now you all have heard that he was educated along with Christians (?) and other religions in a foreign school system. Not the madrassa business. I am amazed though at all the folks that say his religion does not matter. Is that the way the folks in Michigan feel where bells for the muslims dong every so many hours? I like my freedom too, and it does not include having to change for the muslims or any foreign country. I am not against friendship with others, caring about foreigners, or world crisis. Generosity is the American Way.

He never lied or covered up that he came from Muslim ancestors (his father was a Muslim). There's no evidence--you certainly don't offer any--that he was "raised as a muslim".

You need to do some fact checking.

Who even cares? The game of political football means nothing. It doesn't matter who is elected or what party they are from unless it is Ron Paul with the Republicans, everyone else is a New World Order slave and everything will continue as is. The World War 3 will keep going.

The fox story was wrong!! It retracted the statement! IT got it's information form a very republican PC site!! When the site it's self was asked where they got their wrong information they said they got it from Clinton's camp!! The bomb that was dropped with a one of lies and slander!! Maybe someone should go back to the fox site and see the retraction!!

This story is entirely false, and has been completely debunked.

It was made up by a writer at the right-wing rag "Insight," which is owned by Rev. Moon of "moonie" fame. He also owns the Washington Times.

The story was picked up by Fox News, who broadcst it without ANY checking. Fox has now apologized and retracted the story.
