I would tell the truth and write a Book about the truth and that
I decided to turn ethical and sleep better at night! The Book would be about why tell the truth now and what happened to me because of it!
You would probably be able to live on the money you made while being blessed by the enemy in the dark, while you write the book and the Book itself would take care of you for the rest of your life!
" Never Thought Spicing The Truth Would Hurt "
Then because of your repentance, God would inspire you with more and more books and you would feel better in your Heart, Soul, Mind and Strenght just what He ask we love Him with! Why I wanted to make an ethical decision would be going through my mind and the How would be inspired as well as I would know where it was coming from and just do it! Being blessed by the wrong one has left you empty evidently and not liking what you have become to yourself and others maybe? Turn and allow Him to work that is All to it ! You see my friend the righteousness that I do is that of a filthy rag! Isaiah 64:6 We all fall short of the Glory everyday and He is not a perfector of persons. Also, 1Peter 5th Chapter tells us to cast our burdens on Him! Romans 8:28 tells us it all comes together for our good! He will bring you Peace and Joy beyond your wildest dreams and His mercy and Grace will allow you to be Ethical Always!!!!! Be Blessed!

Well, I spent the better part of 25 years working in newspaper newsrooms. The simple truth is that as a reporter, the only assets you have are your brains, your ability as a storyteller, and your integrity. Without any one of those three things, you may as well be flipping burgers.

While it's not always easy, the best reporters are also the most ethical. There is no substitute for simply telling the truth -- and letting the chips fall.

The dilemma does arise especially in investigative journalism, sometime it depends on what the story is about and who is involved. Other factors are how strong is your belief and resolve, your support from your employer, family and friends.

"God, help me to make the right decision!"
I would be thinking:

"This would make a great story, but should I write about it, if it may hurt someone badly?"
"This could allow my career to take off!"
"Will I be able to sleep at night if I write this story?"

You must do your best to uphold the truth as you believe it to be. However, you must also take your own personal safety into consideration. Ultimately, it's up to your discretion.
