Thrive for high marks in every subject, especially bio, physics, chemistry, maths and english. These are very important for your passing grade.Besides, be active in your school co-curriculum, and find summer jobs at a zoo or vet clinic. These experiences will make a good grounding for you to be accepted besides academical excellent.
If you are not a US/Canada student, look for A level programme and Bachelor Of Science, major in Bio.If you can afford a twinning/transfer programme for B.Sc, go for it.Most importantly, search for a university that's specialized in veterinary because it'll give you more privilege than others, if you want to work at US/Canada.

Since you are still in high school you can look into early acceptance programs (Purdue University and some other vet schools have this). This allows you to apply as a high school student. If admitted, you will do your undergraduate degree. If you complete this successfully you are guarenteed admission to the vet school. This is something to look into since getting into vet school is really difficult.

Vet schools don't care about your high school career (unless applying to one of those early admission programs). But take as many science and math classes as possible. This will help you with college level courses. Also see what the prerequisites are to what ever undergraduate program you are applying to.
GPA is very important when you apply to vet school. If you are an out of state student, you really need at least a 3.6 to look good. So you need to keep up good grades right from the start. Get involved with the prevet club if the college has one. Get as much animal experience as possible. All vet schools require time working for a vet. They also want to see that you have had experience with large animals (cows, horses) as well as small (dogs, cats). Other extracirricular activities are good as well. You want to make your self look like a well rounded applicatnat. Try to partake in activities where you can have a leader ship role. So during yor undergraduate career, trying to get into vet school is not just getting good grades but you need to get veterinary expereicne, leadership activities and have other activities.
There are only around 25 vet schools in the US.
Below is a link for the schools, you can see which ones have those early admission programs, or see what some of the requirements you will need to take in undergrad.

Study hard, do well in the sciences and do well in the SAT. A key strategy is to not fall behind in your school work. Cramming the night before the test (heaven forbid, reading the material for the very first time the night before the test) hurts you in the long run. You might also see if you can get a job in a vet's office.
