my wife has fallen down the stairs during an argument. she just lost her balance, but she's trying to make out that i pushed her. she's broken her arm and wrist.
I have tried to visit her in hospital but she just turns away and sobs silently.
It was just a stupid argument and I didn't mean for this to happen. What can I do?

GENUINELY apologize, and get an intermediary to help you out in delivering the message -- someone your wife trusts. Then offer to go for counseling, even if you're not the counseling type-- you guys need to clear the air on this with a neutral party. I also have some tips on visiting people in the hospital in general (see below), which you may be able to draw upon--the key thing is to be a good listener--once you can get your wife to talk to you again.

Buy her a big bouquet of flowers and a bunch of balloons and visit her in the hospital. Get down on your knees next to her hospital bed and beg her for forgiveness. Hold her hand and touch her gently while you talk to her. She's hurt in more ways than one. Offer to do things for her, or fetch things that she needs. Visit her everyday and spend time there, even if she doesn't look at you, she will know you are there, and that you care about her.

Did you actually push her? I'm not here to judge or anything, but if you actually did push her (Even if you felt horrible a second later for doing it) you need to be honest about it.
Secondly, why is it that she wants to pin this on you? What does that say about your relationship if you actually didn't push her?
Maybe counseling is something you two should venture.

Sounds to me like you are more guilty than you are willing to admit. Hope she doesn't press charges on you....there's nothing you can do right now....she is hurt physically and emotionally, so just wait until she is ready to talk to you.

let her calm down by herself u no need to say anything.try to cure her broken arm n wrist asap.whenever everything is ok,u just apologise to her even though it wasn't ur fault.ok?

Sounds to me like you are going to jail if she calls the
police and files a complaint..
