That is not what the media people I know on a personal level say. Everything you become aware of through the media has been filtered, selected and slanted.
Remember that the media are part of the entertainment business, and have not been held accountable since Reagan removed the requirement that opposing views be shown. That is how NBC, CBS and ABC managed to get Arnold (the P.T.Barnum of California politics) reelected.

Media has always been beholden to their sponsors who pay for the programs, but for at least 20 years the big media markets were all bought by big corporations. Media does what corporate world wants and never crosses them. That is why all the old reporters were replaced by pretty boys and T&A newswomen who would toe the line. Politicians were also bought by big business contributions. If the corporate media likes a politician, like Bush for example, he will receive support from the media as long as he is good for business. Now that Bush is plummeting in the polls and losing public support, it may come to pass that his image is bad for business and he will be dropped from favor in the media. So, when it appears that the media is in a politicians pocket, it is not so much that he has power over the press, but that the press is being powerful behind him. You have touched the issue well.

Are you telling me that Murdoch and his ilk are not influenced by politics ? That`s absurd. Free press is a myth. Try reading something along the lines of "Guardians of Power: The Myth of the Liberal Media" By David Cromwell, David Edwards and John Pilger. One of the best on this topic. Prepare yourself for an epiphany.

sure it extremely is propaganda. The third party applicants are disregarded even while they incorporate 2 former congress people and a properly properly-known shopper recommend. The mainstream media have a bias for the status quo and because theres no longer lots distinction between the two significant events it is not significant to them which one gets elected.

They can't "pull the wool over the eyes" of educated media today but they can still use them shamelessly.
