my son is over 1 and i am trying to wean him, but i have so much of a milk supply that i think it would be hard to wean him without helping my body along. i just want to know if anyone thinks its ok to start with the cabbage leaves before he is fully weaned. we nurse in the morning, before naptime (one nap) and before bedtime. and lately in the middle of the night, since he hasnt been sleeping through. but he does eat solids quite well and we have been starting him on milk and he seems to be just fine with that.
anyhow, any suggestions would be welcome, too.
thanks

It will decrease on it's own. Basically to reduce milk, you need to reduce feeding. Its demand and supply. Don't express if you're feeling full as you will produce more. So I suggest trying to stop the daytime feeds altogether and just do the bedtime feed for comfort for the time being. You will probably find he will want the middle of the night feed more often to start, but that will settle.
good luck.the only other way to speed it up is with tablets, but that means you both have to stop cold turkey.

I thought I had read on here that cabbage leaves is a cure for blocked milk ducts and mastitis? I'd check with a doctor, I know weaning can be a bit traumatic for both mommy and baby, and they're bound to have the best tips on weaning.

Get a lact-help nursing equipment so that you'll nurse quickly from the breast. you should teach her to latch on regardless of the actuality that, and also you'll nonetheless be feeding her formulation by ability of the tube, although the Lact-help nursing equipment will extremely help your grant, alongside with the herbs and further fluids. i'm shocked Reglan did not artwork, because it is a prescription. yet please, don't be disillusioned in case you could't manage this. i did not manage to relactate and my son is very healthy. formulation isn't as tremendous as bm, yet less than no circumstances does you giving it on your new child make you a foul human being or mom. you're doing what you could.

you can wean when ever your ready to do so. in some country's they breast bread till age 6. it all up to you and your person chose. I've heard that it helpful to make mommy time where you child has his head on your bare belly while you read him a book so he does not feel unbanned because your child is use to feeling your skin. but this is something i never had to deal with my son because i was unable to breast feed. good luck.

I left mt son with his dad and went on a girls weekend. Let my milk start to dry up. It was painful but it broke the habit.

It takes 24 hours for your body to adjust to the previous days feeding schedule. Your milk will decrease on it's own.......
