You can go to India Palace Restaurant on 1740 Fillmore St. near Post. It's a buffet restaurant and the price is within your range.

The Maharani. It's on Post St, between Van Ness and Polk. It's little more than 10-15 dollars, but the food is delicious and the portions are generous. I think it's also open for lunch.
