Have you seen what is going on in other countries like England? They have large numbers of Muslims living there who are plotting and causing a Jihadist atmosphere there. Are we setting ourselves up to be attacked from within? Aren't many African-Americans converting to Islam? Even in the Anglo/Saxon community. Wasn't Timothy McVeigh proven to have ties to Al Qaeda?

sickskill: WOW!
Glad you are in a religion of peace!
That comes through clearly!

If Islam is against Jihad why aren't more Clerics and leaders in the religion publicly denouncing the radicals?
I can damn sure bet you that if Redneck KKK members of the United States were hijacking planes and flying them into buildings of other countries the United States government would be all over them!

sickskill answer cracks me up.
He declaring what a peaceful society and religion muslim nation is with such a rage and animosity towards an idiot he should very well know only wants to incite rage in others.

Learn to show people what peace is, thats better than talking what peace is youngblood.

Let me lay something on you all.
Now, any informed person knows that the muslim nation is in fact one devoted to peace.

And it strikes me funny that in one of the speeches used that was sent by Bin Laden, that was trying to prove how terrible he was....the small piece they used was, we will fight till we send US home...la la la...
but then it also said they
"until they stop killing our women and children"

AH..that was the key point there
And if investigated, one could link the fact that so many atrocities have been at the hands of the U.S., in the manner that U.S. under different administration trained them for a battle then watches them get slaughtered.

So in trying to understand what a peaceful resolve would be, can we try to look into what caused the hatred that causes the terrorist acts?

"stop america from killing our women and children"

Its this perception, and blame on America, be it true or not, that motivates them.
So, are we tapping into something here

Is this truly a group of people who seek revenge for atrocities against their own women and children?
rather than just a bunch of terrorists who love to kill?

I think this could be a first stepin understanding our enemy.

Too many people want to believe that these terrorists are nothing more than animals led by instint.
But something drove them into what they percieve as the ultimate sacrifice to display their muslim beliefs.
That implies they are muslim
which implies they do believe in peace.
My arguement is that events have led them to sway from their peaceful beliefs and FORCED them into a fight they cannot turn away from.

And, again, in reviewing the past, one can easily see that US has time and time again formed alliances and broke them while the other party suffered greatly.
Both IRAQ and AFGANISTAN paint the exact same picture

So has it been that america with its brittle allegiances and willingness to turn its back on some coutnries is the real initiator of actions taken upon them?

First, i'm a Muslim. Second, did you just say as a Muslim i would lie to you so you don't see how much i hate you? Incorrect...I don't judge or hate others. I'm taught that whenever i see someone doing bad deeds, i should NEVER judge them since i am unaware of what good deeds they have actually done and they might be a good person inside and instead think of how sinful I AM. So i try to improve my own self rather than judging others. I don't think that sounds evil... And i'm sorry but Obama said it himself that he is Christian. I hardly doubt he would lie about that. It's not right for us to assume he is lying. So let's not make this a big deal and just live in peace. The mosque isn't actually on ground zero, a few blocks away. As a President, i'm sure he had to look at many other things, like the freedom of religion his country is supposed to give. So, let's not completely blame him and assume he is a Muslim because of that.

I rarely hear anyone using the term Anglo-Saxon anymore in this country, but anyways I was an Arabic linguist in the Army for six years, my personal opinion is the muslims I've met, my teachers and people I interacted with in the Middle East, aren't for the most part Jihadists or Islamofascists or whatever the new buzzword is. Although I think it is stupid to immigrate to Europe or the US, enjoy the fruits of those societies (including freedom of speech and religion), and then curse them to hell for their immoralities, I think it happens less then you think. As far as McVeigh goes he was driven by far-right/racist ideology and had more to do with "christian ideals" (not really christian, but in his mind) then he had to do with Islam or Al Qaeda.

P.S. I'm black and I don't plan on converting to Islam or becoming a member of Al-Qaeda.

You are in deep prejudice lady! Muslims do not believe in killing infidels they deeply respect the followers of other religions and many have maintained a calm and peaceful life beside the followers of other religions if that was true of Muslims I wouldn't be alive right now! I live in between a whole bunch of muslims and I am a Pantheist I've got great Muslim friends so yeah!

Timothy Mc had absoluetly no ties to Al-Quiada and Americas worse internal threat is the ignorance, racisist attitudes, bigotry and stupidity demonstrated by you and you kind here.

It is thought of as distasteful to profile religious and race groups in the US, even if these groups have vowed to kill you.

It looks like the UK has woken up but France is gone. I believe it will be under Sharia law within 20 years.

Real Muslim & Islam Does not allow to kill Infidels,

Its Permissable only in war Real War sake for Religon, Not for any other meterialistic thing War in the Suppervision of Prophet

Like being american i m not suppose to kill any one in america but if i am a soldier and working for US Army , fighting for my country i suppose to fight with my enemy.

After concure Makkah when Mohamed (p.b.u.h) returned from Madina he didnt kill any another religon beliver they were there.

:
The Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) has given clear instructions about the behaviour of the Muslim army. He observed
"Set out for Jihad in the name of Allah and for the sake of Allah. Do not lay hands on the old verging on death, on women, children and babes. Do not steal anything from the booty and collect together all that falls to your lot in the battlefield and do good, for Allah loves the virtuous and the pious."

So great is the respect for humanly feelings in Islam that even the wanton destruction of enemy's crops or property is strictly forbidden. The righteous Caliphs followed closely the teachings of Allah and those of His Apostle in letter and spirit the celebrated address which the first Caliph Abu Bakr (Allah be pleased with him) gave to his army while sending her on the expedition to the Syrian borders is permeated with the noble spirit with which the war in Islam is permitted. He said:

"Stop, O people, that I may give you ten rules for your guidance in the battlefield. Do not commit treachery or deviate from the right path. You must not mutilate dead bodies. Neither kill a child, nor a woman. nor an aged man. Bring no harm to the trees, nor burn them with fire, especially those which are fruitful. Slay not any of the enemy's flock. save for your food. You are likely to pass by people who have devoted their lives to monastic services; leave them alone"

It is said that once at the time of conquest, a singing girl was brought to al-Muhajir b. Abu Umayya who had been publicly singing satirical poems about Hadrat Abu Bakr. Muhajir got her hand amputated. When the Caliph heard this news, he was shocked and wrote a letter to Muhajir in the following words:

"I have learnt that you laid hands on a woman who had hurled abuses on me, and, therefore, got her hand amputated. God has not sought vengeance even in the case of polytheism, which is a great crime. He has not permitted mutilation even with regard to manifest infidelity. Try to be considerate and sympathetic in your attitude towards others in future. Never mutilate, because it is a grave offence. God purified Islam and the Muslims from rashness and excessive wrath. You are well aware of the fact that those enemies fell into the hands of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) who had been recklessly abusing him; who had turned him out of his home; and who fought against him, but he never permitted their mutilation."
