I have my first job teaching. My neighbouring classroom teacher has atleast 20 years more experience than I do, even though she is extremely lovely I find her highly strung and not confident. I found out she cried on a staff only day ( I'm not sure what it was about but it was work related) I'm a strong person ande confident and although I feel sorry for this woman I do not want to be her crutch to lean on. Wat should I do?

I am in two minds about this question. On the one hand, I would suggest by not opening up to her and not presenting yourself as a sounding-board you will protect yourself from the added stress of her issues. I know from experience, supporting teaching colleagues can be very stressful as they can not often see the forest for the trees.
On the other hand, most teachers sooner or later find themselves in a stressful situation, whether for a short time or for a lengthy time. We would appreciate a sounding board in that situation. Some strategies you could use could include:
- directing her to personnel counsellors, providing their numbers etc and reminding her that its a service for us to help us in a stressful role
- suggesting people with experience in dealing with similar stresses that she is
- you may be privvy to some of her teaching practices that are less successful and could either suggest more successful strategies or carefully suggest to a supportive line manager or leadership member ways in which she could be having difficulties.
Whatever you decide, if you did decide to "be there for her", it would be stressful, however being next door to a rioting class can be equally stressful and distracting to your class if left unchecked.
Goodluck.

If she's coming to talk to you a lot, have things ready to do for those times. For example, grab a book and say, "I've got to get finished with some work." Then walk away. If she questions you for specifics, say, "Oh, I've got so much to do!" Don't give her specifics.

If it's during class, say, "Oh, need to get busy," and go to students and check what they're doing.

If you think her behavior is inappropriate to students, you should also tell a trusted administrator.

i stumbled on that the 'Taare Zameen Par' is rather remarkable and likewise relaxing. each human beings contained in the corridor got here out of tears. Its extremely superb and apropos too. in this era of 'rat race' none is fascinated to think of from the viewpoint of their little ones. each mum and dad prefer to work out their little ones contained in the top. it is coming up each and all of the mesh. in this state of human existence, i think that the author, producer and all actors will receive the appreciation from the all typical human beings. Welcome is likewise good and full of lots of humorous (so called) innovations yet no way comparable with the Taare zameen par.

Play annoying films at high volume with catchy music in them. She'll flip out and retire. You should keep her around. She makes you look good to everyone - kids, parents, teachers, and administration.
