Never. What is the point of 20 guys running after one ball? You can't use your hands is one more bad thing. Each goal is worth one point (that sucks) you can't tackle, slam, punch, or do anything fun. Sucker sucks.

no, the reason is that most of our (america's) best athletes are more interested in becoming stars. since no one cares about soccer that much the best way to become a star is to play a game people watch. the only way i see soccer becoming popular like other countries is if beckham does WAY more than boost the league, he needs to come in and make people want to join the league. he can only do so much, if we get better athletes in the sport then maybe it will have a chance but it is such a slow paced game.... i really doubt it. we just dont have the history that makes it so great in other countries. too bad...

No, Because there's already too many dominant sports in the American landscape. But it could definitely get bigger and surpass nascar and hockey and those kinds of sports. Soccer will never be as big in the U.S. as it is in the rest of the world just like american football will never be as big outside the U.S.

The USA is bringing DAVID BECKHAM to the country, With him there Soccer will be popular & for the first time the world will be interested in USA Soccer. Bringing David in was the best move for USA Soccer.

no...not enough contact...not enough interest in guys sprinting back and forth with minimal scoring...that was the problem with hockey...it was too boring so they took out the red-line and made it a fast paced game...just look at the all star game the score was 12-9! soccer is for the rest of the world...i'll take my football, basketball, and hockey

I don't think so, because we have so many other major sports that have been embedded in our culture for so long. Soccer will definitely grow, but i don't think it'll reach the level of say, football, here in the states.

Nah...Americans aren't the type to riot after losing a game. They prefer to top someone in a giant pile, then eat hot dogs and drink cheap champagne out of plastic cups to celebrate. Canadians enjoy throwing people against glass shields at hockey games, calling it 'checking'. Europeans enjoy climbing fences and weighing them down or tearing them down, whatever suits them. Sometimes they do this BEFORE the game.

It will take a few years but I think it will slowly catch on in America. With it growing around the world and as the youth gets older it will be a game they are familiar with, I think Rugby will grow very quickly in this country.

This version of "Football" did not catch on in America sixty years before, and it wiil not be as popular as either basketball, baseball, American football or even NASCAR in our lifetime.
