For all the divisiveness this country seems to be having these days, I'm wondering if there's any happy, successful, and truly bi-partisan couples out there who can enjoy a lifetime commitment beyond being political opposites.

My first marriage was, I am middle of the road, and believe strongly on responsible behavior, my ex was a very liberal woman. Needles to say it did not last, since in marriage liberal ways only spell doom for it. Marriage is a partnership and if one of the 2 people in the relationship, he or she (she in my case) is all about "themselves" the marriage is doom to fail. Mark my words.

Now my second wife is like me, and we are loving life and have been for some years now.

So good luck to all those out there in bi-partisan marriages.

Well, there's always James Carville and Mary Matalin. How one of them hasn't tried to kill the other is a mystery to me. Maybe "make-up" sex keeps the marriage going.
