I have thought about home schooling to make sure i have a watch on her so what do you think

I don't think that should be your main purpose to home school. Teach her to be careful, tell her to always walk w/ friends but to home school her for the purpose of locking her up for safety isn't good. At what point do kids learn to cross the street by themselves? Or be independent? You may actually do more harm than good when you try to prevent something that more often than not doesn't happen by smothering her. This is a good reason that children should carry cell phones. If you have it in you, go for it. I couldn't handle it myself. Just make sure you are there to pick your kids up right after school and they should be fine. I think most kids get kidnapped in the front yard or walking down the street. Not usually from school. You can't keep your kids in a plastic bubble though.

You should not react to fears and paranoia brought on by what you see on TV... Of course the world is a dangerous place, but you should not let that govern your decisions on whats best for you childs education. School is a very important aspect of developing a childs social skills - you should carefully weigh up the pros and cons.

home schooling is a good option but i feel that it can leave one upprepared to deal with the real world.

If you teach your children what to do...there should be no issue. You can't shelter your children from the world forever. Better to learn early...then later.
