Like, say I wanted to start a fantasy baseball league (so I would have to have an offline draft if I'm doing it through Yahoo.) But what if everyone in my league lives in different states? Have any of you done this before? If so, how did you do the draft? (like, through the yahoo group page, or through e-mail, or what?)

Don't do a prerank computer draft first off. You never get the players you want. There are really two good ways of doing this:
1) The expensive way: Set up a conference call. These can be set up through a long-distance company like AT&T or Sprint. You just set up a start time and the fee is around $1 a minute. Drafts usually run about 2 hours so you do the math. Give everyone in your league the number to call and its as simple as that. Someone can simultaneously send out constant email updates with every pick if your worried about people keeping track.
2) The cheap way: Text or email drafts. The commisioner will text each person as its their turn to draft, or email if you choose. Email is easier, but texting can be fun, and more convenient if some people can't stay at their computer the whole time. The flaws here generally are that people don't know whose turn it is, and don't keep track of whose been chosen. Each mistake takes longer to correct.
Either way should end up fine

Have a live, private draft through yahoo. Other on-line fantasy sports sights probably have this option too. My league is switching to Rotowire this year and they have been very helpfull and timely answering all our questions via e-mail. Hope this helped! Good Luck!

what you do is you pre-rank your players that you want then save it. when the computer determines the random draft order it will pick the player(s) that remain at the top of your list. Only one player can be on one team...when everyone pre-ranks their players it's first come...first serve...
