just because they are older in books, doesn't give them a veto to be manipulative and rude to me

my grandparents I don't resepect. They are rude and manipluative... I tolerate them better because they are older.. but I am a single mom and they think that satan has me.. so that deters any respect that I used to feel

I think all older people should be shown respect, but at the same time if they want respect they need to treat people with a little respect.
If they are rude you just politely tell them that there is no need to be rude. Just because they are older doesn't mean you have to tolerate bad behaviour from them, but you show respect in the way of being polite and tell them what it is that you don't like them doing to you and that is not showing any disrespect at all.

When people grow old they change ,in different ways.Some become very kind,while others become rude and mean.Some become very childish.They do silly things to get attention.Some become selfish and demanding.There for i think it is part of growing old.I guess that is why they say"Dawn the hill"One of my grandmas was very very kind.The other grandma is still living and has become a baby at the age of 80.One of mt grandpas was mean.Every time he saw me,he made me do a house chores,which were not for me to do.Never heard anything nice from him.The other grandpa died really early in life.Never got to know him.Every time i think about getting old,i hope i become a nice older parent.Hang in there.

an old proverb of wisdom . you attract more flies with honey then with vinager.
What that means is, You show them respect and soon they will giveyou respect and will actually try to help you reach your goals in life that you want to do.

exactly. some older people are rude, who knows why. but i think everyone should be treated with respect regardless of age.
