According to the Bible, imagining having sex with a woman to whom you aren't married is just as adulterous as actually doing it. So, from that standpoint, the latter option would have to be worse.

Both are OK if not caught in the act...... isn't that the modern moral? Otherwise, adultery is worse.... as it involves physical action making a third person privy to what ought to be within the husband and wife.

( I am deliberately ignoring the qualifications in the question, namely, that the adultery is only once and that too with a hooker and the thoughts of other women is EVERY time having sex with wife... these qualifications in my view are unnecessarily diverting our attention from the main issue which is physical adultery vs mental one)

I think the first would be worse. It is an action as opposed to a thought.

This is similar to; thinking about shooting up your school while sitting in class everyday or actually going to class with a gun and going postal. The second is obviously the worse. Both in each case are bad, but the question is which one is worse.
