We have tickets to a Lakers game on Friday and I just want to know how long is the average nba game.

Around 3 hours, same as football and baseball.

The average NBA game is about three hours. Despite the fact that there are four quarters in every NBA game that lasts for 12 minutes each, you also have to keep in mind of the time outs, halftime and whether or not the game will go into overtime. So, it should be about three hours.

I was at a Jazz game last night and it lasted 3 hours due to a 5 minute overtime. The game should last between 2 1/2 to 3 hours long. Have a great time!

It depends on how much of the game clock has ticked away. In football, you could run only one or two plays before a game minute elapses, which could be the same as or only slightly longer than a real-life minute, say at the start of the first quarter. However as you get closer to the final two minutes of the halves, due to running out of bounds and time-outs you could run a 10-12 play drive in less than two minutes. Similarly, in basketball, as the clock is running out towards the end of the game and teams need to score a couple points to tie or take the lead (and thus, multiple possessions) you have players constantly fouling and stopping the clock to force the other team to rely on free throw shooting while getting a quick possession after the fouled player takes his shots. I don't know if there's a real definite answer, just watch some football and basketball and you get a feel for how the timing is.

The games have 4 quarters in it that last 12:00 mins. that total up to 48 mins game time
then you add in the halftime show that's about 15-20 Mins
plus all the timeouts that come in the game that are usually 20 secs. or a full min. so in all it'll be probably about 2HR-3HRs

between 2 1/2 or 3 hours for a regular game but if it's over time it's longer i go to basketball games all of the time so it is good to see another young women going to games .

It is usually two and half hours unless it goes into overtime or double or maybe triple overtime then it will be longer than that. Since it's a Lakers game they will probably win and it will only because two and half hours.

the game is scheduled to be played for 48 minutes, however due to frequent timeouts, fouls, and an unnecessary halftime the game lasts about 2.5 hours
