My finace' and i live in NC and my entire family lives in ND. My finace' is a firefighter and wants to have a small wedding a few weeks after we are married in ND (The firefighter brotherhood is a little too strong sometimes) My question is, can i and should i wear the same wedding dress and have my bridesmaids wear the dresses they purchased? The guys will be wearing their formal uniform during the wedding in NC. Thanks for the help.

Yes for more reasons then one! First off it will save people and U money and you will still look glam in all the pictures from both! Plus with u wearing the same dress and the brides maids the sam u can tell the two time apart by the man in uniform! What's wrong with wearing the same dresses? Even if you want to wear a different dress, in 10-15 years re-new ur wedding vows and have a different layout and dresses! It will be fine and later in life you can have another wedding like thing with the man of ur dreams---ur hubby! Good luck and congrats!

It is 100% up to you what you want to do. If you're actually having two full ceremonies, it does make sense to re-use the dresses.
But are you absolutely sure you want two actual wedding ceremonies? It's more typical to have one wedding and two receptions. Most people are only interested in the party anyway.
If you want to have a ceremony in NC, perhaps you could have something special that's all your own, not a regular ceremony with dresses etc.

Well I would suggest a little something different. Have a small wedding where you live. Take and make a phot slide show and have a reception for your family and show the slide show of your actual wedding. while hosting that reception then I would wear your dress and he wear his tux.
My brothers did this we are from mountians of Pa one brother was married in fla then had reception in pa. Other brother married in singapore and reception in the states in town where most of his friends are

The correct answer is "Yes" same dresses.
The reason why is because your friends will feel that your are really making it hard in them if you make them purchase another outfit. They are already needing to pull double-duty for the sake of your "two weddings". How much harder are you trying to make it for your poor friends? Of course, if they're all rich and don't mind spending hundreds of dollars for no good reason.... naw... Just wear the same outfit... the folks in ND will feel they got the real thing that way.

WHY NOT! Just go for it. This is an excellent way to economize and NOT end up with bills that you and your new husband don't need as you both are starting out in a new life.

If I were you...I'd definately wear the dress again....after all most brides buy the most beautiful dress they've ever seen and only ever get to wear it once!

You can only have one wedding........
you could have 2 receptions or a vow renewal, but once married, you would have to get divorced to get married again.
