We aren't Cro-Magnon. We are Homo Sapiens. The Cro-Magnon are our direct ancestors.
The Chinese do not have "squinchy eyes". Their eyes are just as large as those of any other race. What they do have is a fold which covers part of the top of the eye to give it the look you described as "squinchy" for some reason.
The fold is called the "Epicanthal Fold". See this article for more info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epicanthic_fold
An equally valid question would be: why don't Caucasians have the fold?

Comon guy!!! Its ridiculus. There are races in the earth. We are different. Nothing to do with it! The answer is not racist.
Millions of years ago the ancestors of the "chinese" were lived in a windy place and small tnigs ofter irritate their eyes so those who got squinchy eyes became succesful hunters etc. and they "made" more child.
By the way: the same happend with the blonds, in those northern parts , thats why peolple living in a mountains millions of years ago became short , and blacks in savanna became a good long distance runners.
The genetic differences are evident so it is not a racist question.
We have differencies determinated by our race, we have to talk about it otherwise there will be some dumb who keep shouting racist all the time.
If there are no differencies why are the blacks better sprinters and bball players and whites better swimmers etc?

Some physical traits logically come from evolutionary adaptation to their environment.
For example,
The light skin for people who live near the poles so that they can better absorb the light
That dark skin of people who live near the equator to protect them.
The 'semitic' nose of peoples who live in the deserts of the middle east to cool and filter the air that they breath.
The list could be extended, but you get the idea.
A good question might be: is there anything about the Asian environment that would have helped such a feature evolve?

Wow the last guy was pretty blunt with the WHITE and BLACK terms... though I am sure you've gotten the point by now. And really quick... what would make a WHITE person any better at swimming than and African person(or person of African descent?) From what I know Africans were the first starting point for humans so maybe Africans are pretty good at alot of things because Africans hadn't evolved for and specific area(other then Africa).

I don't think he's a racist; he's just curious about eyelids. Try not to chastise him for not knowing the technical alternative to squinchy.
"Squinchy". I kinda like it. Sounds like a name you give to an inchworm stuffed animal.
He could advertise for Ace Hardware in commercials. "Squinchy the inchworm says meet my friend Retracto, the retracting measurement tapeworm stuffed animal."

They have a thing called the epicanthic fold, it is a bit of skin near the eyes. I think that chinese eyes are beautiful and mysterious!
