I have noticed, especially at my school, that people only care about how much money you (your family) has. How nice your cars are, how big your house is, or the nice clothes you can buy. Or even how well you blend in a pretend you have the money. Why are some people so low? Im not saying all people with money are like this but I have see quite a few.

At my private school, the majority of the familys have a lot of money. There was this person that I was starting to get along with and be friends with but then he say my house and family and such, and is the so rude to me. He has a 3 story house with a guest house and a studio in his house and he has two rooms (in one house) and really nice cars. I live in a one story house in not the greatest part of town with my mom and we do fine.

But why are people so low? Do they notice they act this way? What do I do about them?

People like that are truly pathetic. Think about how they'll never know what a great person you are because they're too busy looking down their nose at you. They are all about themself, and the only way they relate to others is by comparing others to themselves. They must be very vain, bitter, or lonely.

If you ever get that huge house and garage full of cars, never forget what that it felt like.

Nothing you can do about them, and Yes, they know how they act...they were taught to be like that, and if they ever questioned the the why of it, they were told it was because they were/are better than poor people.
I'm happy to see that you consider that you and your mom are doing okay. Quite frankly, I think that we "poor people" can handle life better than the rich, because when the rich lose all their material possessions, they seem to keep that stubborn pride of theirs intact, refusing to admit that they're now down to your "level", and, boy, does it hurt to have to ask for help. We "poor people" on the other hand know how to "eke out a living", and aren't too proud to take any job to support our families. Our homes are filled with love, not greed for more things. Money can make life easier, but it cannot buy happiness.

For the same reason George W Bush is allowed to remain President; most people do not care about anything but themselves.

Some people are so shallow that in order to make themselves fell better, they have to put others down. Personally, I consider them sub-humans.
