I worry about alot of things with baby (am 28 wks pregnant) - will baby be healthy? Will i cope when baby is born? Will i make a good mother?
One of my more superficial thoughts (i know - its sounds horrible... i deserve it if i'm judges harshly) - will my baby be a cute baby? I don't know what put this thought into my head or why it even is a thought in my head but.. i don't want baby to be ugly. I want my baby to be absolutely gorgeous ... am i the only one to have such a stupid thought? Does thinking it make me a bad mother-to-be?

I'm with you on that one, but on a different level. We have 3 children, and when pregnant I was worried they would have my eyes ( I HATE my eyes!!!) Well, the 1st 2 didn't, but the 3rd did. But, you know what? They are GORGEOUS on him!!! he is such a cutie! So, my point being, no matter what he/she comes out like, bubs is yours and you will love them. Any worries you had while pregnant will no longer be when you see them for the 1st time. You will automatically fall in love!!!! Good luck - and don't stress. Just enjoy whats left of your pregnancy.

It does sound horrible doesn't it. But I think its normal. At least I had those thoughts when I was pregnant with my first. But she was and still is absolutely gorgeous.
I think its one of those less talked about questions as who really wants to admit they are scared their own baby might be ugly.
But as it's your baby it will always be a beautiful baby. I dont think I've ever met somone that thought their own child was ugly.
You will be great Mum if your having all these worries, and your baby will be sooooooooooooo suuuuuuuuuuuuper cute. So dont worry.

No your not silly for having such thoughts, it's perfectly normal. As for having a cute baby???? Of course you will, every mother knows their baby is the cutest in the world (nomatter what anybody else thinks).

No, I dont think it is horrible. I feel the same way. I hate when I go out and see rag-a-muffin kids. There is no reason for it. Honestly, I cant say I have seen more ugly babies then cute ones. the majority are cute. It is all in how you present them. So even if they have a lot of baby fat, or a long face or crazy hair, you can make them cute in how you dress and care for them. Remember they cant do it themselves.

I felt the same way. I worried if he was fine, he was; I worried if he would be cute, he most definitly is; I worried if I truely wanted to start over again with my other child being 8, I couldn't imagine life without him. So yes these fears are all normal you will make a fine mom in the end just wait and see.

it's normal. I'm soon to be a mother too. First baby and I have some of the same thoughts. I'm 39 weeks today and I am almost an over anxious, nervous wreck...hang in there,,

I think that every woman wonders what her children will look like, and I think that alot of woman hope that they have cute babies, I know I did, and I did have 2 beautiful babies. However, every mother thinks that her babies are the most beautiful babies. I have never heard of a woman who had a baby and said YUCK!!!. Good Luck!!

i think what your going through right now most Mommy's to be go through at one point. i did with my first pregnancy. you wanting to have a cute, healthy baby is normal everyone wants that. im sure that your baby will be absolutely breath taking as all babies are. good luck :)

everyone wants a pretty baby :) as well as a healthy one. I wonder about that all the time too. I am sure everyone does. Of course health is the number one priority.
