it's a form of mental cheating, yes...and I can only assume the internet was a partial reason your divirce is happening in the first place.

No, if you are going through a divorce that means you are separated right? So it is not like you are cheating on him because you are not with the someone online. If you are going though a divorce that is not cheating.

well if your marriage is not a finalized divorce then you are still married. Now about the talking thing talking is not cheating. Having a sexual relation with someone you are not married too that is cheating.
one other way to look at this is, would you like the next man that you will marry someday to stay faithful to you or would you like that he is just about talking to anyone trying to find someone to just fill the empty spot in his heart that someone left.
I would rather find the one whole person that is just perfect for me, And I believe it would be best to finish your divorce first. Make sure I am a whole and complete person not needing someone in my ,life. then and only then I would start dating but I would keep myself from a sexual relationship until I found that person I will marry and keep myself for them . Until then I feel like I am cheating on that person if i am with anyone else.

If your in divorce court, no one cares.
I went thru this with my ex husband who claimed I was cheating. I never cheated inside the marriage, but when I filed for a divorce, the marriage was over and it is no longer considered cheating.
The judge told him after he moved out, it was none of his business.

Since you're going thru a divorce, you're not married in your mind and heart. Thus talking to someone online is not cheating.
But why are you jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Give yourself time to find out what independence and freedom feels like. It's truly maHvelous!!!

I dont think its cheating at all! its different if you are making dates and making out. but having somone for a support system is fine. we all need friends to help thru the rough times. keep it simple, friendly then when the divorce is final and you want to get more serious go for it. good luck to ya

I don`t think talking to another person on line or at the pool, or at the beach, work, supermarket ,or anywhere else is cheating.
