i have like 4 questions...

describe 2 ways in which genetic recombination occurs during meiosis.

how do the products of meiosis 1 differ from those of meiosis 2

what are one advantage and one disadvantage of asexual reproduction compared with sexual reproduction??

can anyone answer any of these questions?? please

1. Crossing-over exchanges sections of homologous chromosomes. Also, independent assortment makes it so the homologous pairs are separated randomly. All kinds of combinations can end up in the gametes.
2. Look in your textbook for a diagram that shows phases of meiosis I, starting with prophase I. All texts have illustrations like that, and they usually have labels with the main points. Too long to type here.
3. After meiosis I there are two daughter cells that are haploid (monoploid), but the chromosomes are still double-stranded. After meiosis II there are four daughter cells (gametes) that are haploid, and the chromosomes are single-stranded (single chromatids).
4. Asexual reproduction is relatively fast and it makes lots of successful offspring when the parents are successful. A disadvantage is that offspring from asexual reproduction are genetically identical to the parent, so there's no variation and less likelihood that some will survive when the environment changes.

List the 4 phases of meiosis 1, and briefly explain what occurs during each phase

Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. (add 1 after each one, i.e., Prophase 1)

Prophase
The first phase in cell division, when chromosomes condense and can be seen as two chromatids.

Metaphase
The second stage of cell division, during which chromosomes line up in preparation for separation.

Anaphase
The third stage of cell division during which chromosomes are moved to opposing poles of the spindle.

Telophase
The final stage of cell division, in which daughter cell nuclei form around chromosomes at opposite ends of the dividing mother cell.

Homeworkphase
The stage of just getting by from asking Yahoo to do your homework.

Describe 2 ways in which genetic recombination occurs during meiosis:

“Crossing Over” When chromosomes become paired they are pressed together and the chromosomes may break causing each to swap a portion of its genetic material with each other.

“Independent Assortment” (inter-chromosomal recombination) the chromosomes separate independently of each other and the gametes will end up with any combination of paternal or maternal chromosomes.

Wow i've got not had this concern before. while i became into with the bio father of my newborn i did not have those problems along with his different little ones mom. Jealous per risk? using fact he chooses to call you his mom relatively of her. i don't understand what's taking place together with her yet you & your husband are right to have it taken to court docket. they'll probably grant her visitation rights & it could be annoying interior the beginning up yet each thing gets extra effective. for valuable :)
