Only officer authorized to sign in the name of a company can open a bank account in the name of that particular company. So if you have a corporation andn he is a director - sure, he can open it.

Any person who will be the chief financial officer of your company may open a business account, so long as you are named on the account.

you should go yourself.
an employee could do it though but the bank will need your signature on the agreement.unless the employee has a general power of attorney to act on your behalf.

If you want to be on the account the answer is no, you have to go and sign the signature card in person
