I have worked for a group of gynecologists for over 10 years and some of them swear that Prometrium will help in conceiving and others think it's a load of crap. I myself, think that it can help as you need a certain amount of progesterone to conceive and maintain a pregnancy. Bottom line is that it can't hurt and will probably help. If you can get someone to prescribe it for you I would try it.

I have read about women taking prometrium before getting pregnant to build up their lining, although I don't think it is very common. It is usually used for women who have thinner endometrial linings or who do not produce enough progesterone on their own to support a pregnancy. I'm pretty sure the only way to know if it would be of any help to you would be to have an ultrasound after ovulation to determine the depth and quality of your lining. If it is subpar, prometrium might help, but it won't do any good if you are already normal.
