New Orleans is a product of the whole political system. The dems incharge down there and the republicans in charge in washington. WHen New Orleans police were told (by a Dem) not to let anyone cross that bridge and the Republicans didn't do water and food drops regardless of the local politics They all are responsible for the after effects.
What will be rebuilt first is based on politics. Iraq leaders can't do #* because local tribal leaders won't allow it and through road blocks up.
New Orleans has the same problem. To many cooks in the kitchen all want cookies for successes no one will risk just doing the right thing and getting the job done for fear it will be criticized when finished.
Iraq leadership fears insighting more violence
New Orleans has politicians, state, city, and federal, that fear not getting re-elected.

New Orleans can rebuild itself if it wanted to, but like it's mayor said " You have to understand when asked about the floating buses, these people don't like to work on Sundays" Iraq on the other hand really does need our help and there is oil around New Orleans!! Gee.

Excellent point. Iraq will come first over New Orleans. You see the proof everytime cities in Iraq are shown, although you may see places that are completely demolished by bombs, you also see many, many signs of regrowth.

I dont believe that..
The problem I see with the rebuild of New Orleans..is this : it lies so many feet below sea level and is surrounded by water that is hurricane prone..Is it really safe or a good idea to rebuild in an area that is likely to be wiped out by a hurricane again..I know they build walls and such, but mother nature can tear down and get by any man made structure..
As for Iraq, I dont think we should have to rebuild their contry for them..they dont like us, so why give all of our money to build up a contry that is going to constantly be ripped apart by wars concerning religion.. Lets start spending our money on the US Citizens..we could all use a tax break..I would love to get our of the low-middle class tax bracket and be able to enjoy life again , like I did in the mid 90s.....
Sorry if any of these statements offend anyone..but I pay taxes and I have the right to voice my true feelings about the subject mentioned...

In New Orleans, the rebuilding process in underway, although it would have been nice had Bush acknowledge this in his big speech last night.
But we're not done tearing down Iraq yet. Hurricane America is still rolling through.

Well they are both war zones, except one is 14' under water. New Orleans is being rebuilt, and they are not blowing up what has been rebuilt there.
