I have recently posed the question of whether or not you believe Barry Bonds used steriods. Some of the responses I got were not that well thought out. I detected a hint of "Burn him at the stake."

Keep in mind that outside of a lot of media hype, there has been no real evidence of this. Barry has denied using, he has not failed any steriod testing. Urine samples from years ago have been tested recently and no evidence of steriods were found. Many speak of the weight gain, but I am 32 and I have gained over 40 pounds since high school and I am not a fat guy. Do you really believe it or do you just want to.

Oh yeah, the book of shadows hardly counts as evidence. If it did, Barry would be in jail.

i dont hate bonds or mcguire for that matter, they are both very private ppl and the media has always had a field day with bonds b/c he doesnt talk to the media and when he does he is an ***. the media can probably get quite annoying and irritable at times i would imagine so i dont fault him for that, i would prolly do the same. and as far as on the field wise he is one of the best of all time. the whole steriod thing even if he has done it (which hasnt been proved yet) baseball had little to no rules against the use of it. if anything they probably incouraged it after the strike in 94 to get the slugging numbers up to bring the fans back. and if there were any tests he obviously passed them, so whats the problem. baseball and the voters that vote for the hall of fame should understand that there was nothing that they did wrong at the time they had no rules so how can you have a punishment for a rule that didnt exist???

Luv him, he's a tremendous baseball participant. he will in all likelihood beat Babe Ruth's record quicker or later (with somewhat of luck). And if he would not, then second position isn't a foul position to be in. Oh, and if Bonds says he did not take steroids, then he did not. Why can't we only help the guy?

Barry has been caught using drugs and when he gets caught it is always someone else that gave him the drug. Would you take a drug not knowing what it would do to you. Barry seems to take a lot not knowing what the results would be. And he might end up in jail. I won't say I hate him but if he was a person that didn't let people go to jail for him, or didn't show such disrespect for the fans it would be a different story. But he has done this and I do think he has paid for drugs and knew what he was taking. I also think he paid for a person to go to jail for him. If he hasn't done anything, then why won't he show up in court to stand up for himself.

He's a smug bastard, when he had an interview a few years ago he brought along his son to make him seem like a family man. He has used a cream that he claims he used unknowingly that it was against the rules to use that type. When he was in the WS, when everyone was running out he was the only one not to high five or shake hands with everyone he only high fived the starters.

I dislike Barry Bonds from personal experience. We live in SW Missouri and went up to St. Louis for a Cardinals game and stayed in the same hotel as the visiting Giants. We were there for 3 days and the Giants were there for 2 of those days. My brothers and I ran into various players throughout the weekend and all were nice and willing to sign autographs except for one-Bonds. I eventually went up to him and asked him if he would mind getting his dad's autograph for me, to which he replied with something very witty like "F-off". And oh yeah, he was a whole lot smaller back then, in 97.

I used to be a fan, but i find it hard to think that drugs weren't used. McGwire too. I really think that if Rapheal Palmeiro lied about it, so can someone else. I thought that is the last thing Palmeiro would do, considering that he's maintained less of a body structure than Bonds and really never showed it considering his HR totals were legit.
I know it's innocent until proven guilty, so i'm not calling Bonds on anything. There is definately a possibility. I just find it hard to believe that he would do it personally, since his god father is Willie Mays, and it would take alot (in my point of view) to ruin his legacy and let down alot of people.

I love watching Barry Bonds. He has brought me great joy over the years. The hysteria surrounding him is completely unfair. If you notice, baseball/America always crucifies anyone that is on the verge of breaking a Home Run record. This is true.

Regarding his relationship with the media. I don't care about that. I hate the media, they are a bunch of fat and lazy people. All they care about is free food, free tickets, free clothes and free rides.

Bonds rules! Thanks Barry.

I could never stand Bonds, going back to when he was with the Pirates in the 80s/early 90s. He came off as a smug, arrogant prick from Day One. Being a Phillies fan, I got tired of seeing that mug.

I really think he uses steroids. He was as skinny as anorexic Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan and know he's a monster like the Hulk. How do you explain that. It's almost not humanly possible to be able to hit that many homeruns in such a short amount of time.He gets treated like every single time he comes up to the plate the pitchers act like 2 year olds and wet their pants because they think he's going to hit a homerun no matter where they throw the ball or how fast or what type of pitch they throw.Nobody has ever been treated like or even come close.Pedro Martinez,Randy Johnson,Greg Maddux,Curt Schilling,J.Santana are also scared of Barry Bonds even if they're in their prime. The amount of walks are astronomical. He should start his own version of baseball called Superhuman Baseball.Nobody would ever join because their is nobody like him.
