I suffer from frequent UTI's. I saw a urologist, and am being sent for a cystocopy. I had one done six years ago and a rigid metal scope was used which hurt like hell. I am so nervous about this one and I was wondering if anyone has had them done with both kinds of scopes and was the fibroptic one so much better? On a scale of 1-10, how bad was the pain of the smaller fibroptic scope versus the other one? I say the rigid metal one was a 15 and I left crying.

I've never had one myself, but I DO assist in them. I work with a physician that uses the fiberoptic ones, and patients do say they are better. It's not going to be fun no matter what, but it IS important that you get your problem fixed.
