yes you can but trust me, you don't want to: it tastes absolutely awful. Really, just buy the pills.

Yes that's the part of Valerian that is used.. it is
a tea that puts one to sleep. It knocks me out like a light! If U can't stand Buckleys Original Mixture than Valerian isn't for U cause it tastes
even worse than Buckley's Mixture!

Yes. The best way is to buy the cut and sifted root. If the chunks are about 1/4" it's best to simmer a couple minutes, then steep 10-15 minutes. If you're using powder, eleminate the simmer. If the smell really turns you off (it is distinctive) try adding a teaspoon of chamomile flowers for the steep time. Strain before drinking. Improved with honey & lemon. Store leftover in refrigerator.

Valerian is natures Valium and mixing that with xanax. I would not recommend that it is 2 that calms and too much of that can stop your heart. You would have to give up one or the other.

Ugh. Just buy the pills. Sometimes, we humans can improve on Mother Nature just a tad bit. LOL.

You can, BUT the smell is repulsive. The pills smell just as bad but you can swallow those quickly and be done with it.
