It started with spotting for about 4 days, then normal bleeding for 3 days and now I am still spotting. Everything has been pretty normal up until now. I am wondering if it is some kind of premenapause symptom. I am only 34 though so it seems kind of young for that. The other thing I am thinking is it may be that I am low on progesterone. This makes a total of 11 days of bleeding or spotting! I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, so I am sure it is not a miscarriage.

The records kept by women who practice Natural Family Planning (NFP) are very helpful (to patient and doctor) when hormones don't cycle on schedule. Links below will help you find info on NFP.
But I'm not sure you should wait that long. I'd consult a GYN soon. As you say, 34 is a bit young for menapause. If your hormones are getting unreliable at age 34, I would think you would be a candidate for regulating them with birth control pills.

When first put on thyroid tablets, my periods went from 5 days to 1 1/2 days. On and off thyroid for many years; once when flooding, and Gyn couldn't find a cause, I asked him to run a thyroid test. He did, and it was "the lowest I've ever seen". I wonder how many hysterectomies are done for "fibroids" when it could be underactive thyroid....
Low thyroid symptoms are being cold when nobody else is, puffy face, not as sharp mentally. It doesn't show up in a blood test unless they test specifically for thyroid.
