I am in my first trimester and it's been pretty good so far except for feeling tired all day long. I can barely finish an 8-hour shift at work: it's hard to stay focused (I work in the office) and I just feel so physically exhausted. I eat right and exercise, get plenty of sleep. I realize it is one of many "joys" of being pregnant, but is there anything I can do to make it better?

You need to understand that your body is creating and starting up a baby factory... Even though you can't see it or feel it, your body is putting in physical overtime... Keep doing exactly what you're doing, and allow yourself to just say, "I'm beat. It's nap time!" The middle trimester was always full of energy with my three pregnancies... so you're just around the corner from those vitamins kicking in and three months of feeling that baby start to grow and move.. it's the best! Take time to put your feet up, though. It's really important to learn that now, and keep it up once you're a mom!!

Make it out of the first trimester.

There isn't anything you can do, hon. You can sleep for 12 hours and I promise you, you will still be tired. It's just the way things are in that first trimester.

My wife used cigarettes to ease the fatigue on her pregnancy. Coffee is also quite helpful. Just stay away from Ginko-Biloba. It made our son come out with webbed feet.
