Well he has some goals to achieve.The longest player at world No 1.The french open.The Grand Slam.Most open wins.
Even so he is easily the best player in the world today.In my opinion the best ever.I heard an interview with Agassi,after losing to Roger, and he suggested.that the professional tennis players make up a kitty to entice Roger not to play.
Incidentally I think Federer will accomplish all his targets

I think eventually he will achieve that rank because he is on the fast track to catch Pete Sampras for most grand slam champions. Federer is also the toughest player on the tennis courts today and he generally wins with such easy and he has a great mental capacity for the game and is not easily rattled on the court. So eventually he will be considered the best player in history.

I think it's still to early to tell. To become the best player in history, he has to overtake Pete Sampras in the number of grand slam wins. Pete has 14 wins, Federer 9 -- 4 Wimbledons, 2 Aussies and 3 US Opens. And also, he needs to win the French Open which he hasn't done so yet. But I believe he will win all 4 slams this year and that will make him the best player in the history of men's tennis.
