Most trees should be fertilized twice a year. Once in the early spring as they are budding and once in the fall which will help strenghten them to help them through the winter. Different trees call for different fertilizers in different seasons. Check the packages to see which ones will help produce fruit and which ones are good for the roots.

Hmmm, manure products now are fine since they contain so little nitrogen. Now, before leaf out, phosphorous and potassium fertilizers are fine, but hold off on the higher nitrogen stuff until the leaves are out.
