What would be some good sources (books, videos, websites) for learning about learning? Are there any paragons of the field?

Also, is there a name for the study of learning about learning?
It's hard to find a holistic source without a more distinct word for this...

I used the Learning Pyramid in my lessons

Average retention rate of student per application of tools:
Draw a pyramid
the top~down to base
5% Lecture
10% Reading
20% Audio-Visual
30% Demonstration
50% Discussion Group
75% Practice by Doing
90% Teach others-Immediate Use of Learning
Based on National Training Laboratories

Tactual, Audio or Visual are the senses you engage and repetition is the key. I will repeat the same information in different way and in a exercise of the situation before moving on. Often I quiz them several times during the lecture. All have handouts and they are asked to read and highlight the written text as its on the over head shows it and the instructor says it as written.

I assume everyone has a learning disability. So no one is left behind. The faster student is paired with the slower one to engage them to be better. I never lower the "bar" I expect everyone to reach it. No excuses. No failure is accepted.

I am a stern, direct and very caring teacher. I take my students and my goal for success very seriously. I will not tolerate a parent or spouse that can't see that "challenges" make us better. All of us.

I teach adult now- yet the children were incredible.
They love games and learning can be so easy and fun with them.
Adults don't realize that "FUN" can be educational.

Best wishes
I hope that helped you.

There is a concrete source of learning...
...........EXPERIENCE is the best teacher. If I were you, I would read all the books that are needed. It is also necessary for us to explore and be curious about some factors affecting the lives of people. In that way, you will be able to find the sources about learning.
