Intolerence is something subjective. People throw that word around like m&m's. If what you are asking is if we should stand up for what we believe in; then yes we should and continue to do so as long as it takes for others to get the point. This does not mean hurting others, it means letting others know that it is alright for them to disagree with you and you them. But that it is not alright for you or them to put down or harm each other in that disagreement.
Take the hot topic of abortion. I do not believe in it for any case. That is my stand on the topic and no-one can change my mind on it. Does that mean I would hurt someone getting an abortion or turn my back on someone that has had one? No. That is wrong too. We should look at people as something to care about and not their deeds. It is alright to show friendship or love others that do not agree with us. But it is not alright to for them to expect us to change our stand on something in order to be close to them.
As to what to be intolerent about; well that depends on the person and their motives. The KKK was intolerent of blacks. Look what that got them. On the other hand, our society is intolerent of drunk drivers. As I said it is the motive, not the intolerence.
