It's taken a great deal of discipline, but when I go to bed, I "empty" my mind of ALL adversities, & focus on the comforts; the goose down pillows, a pleasant book, my kitty purring under the blankets, the little amber lamps in the corners of the room. I used to wake up about every 15 minutes & "scribble" all the things I needed to do the next day. Wiped me out. It DOES take discipline, & then gets automatic. I've been sleeping beautifully for the last year & much better able to "cope" when I do get up. Truly! Try it. At the start, it isn't easy with all those little green demons swirling around in your head, but if I can do it, I betcha anyone can.

Things I need to take care of, people I am concerned about, stuff I forgot to take care of during business hours-these are the things that seem to float to the top of my mind once I begin to relax.
I find that writing down the tasks for a "to do" list for the next day helps, as does time spent in the Bible and in prayer.
Turning from worrying to praying is something that helps, and I am working on becoming more conscious of doing just that. I otherwise start to worry without intending to- not healthy.

Yes! That's when I have the worst dreams.

Sometimes, when I'm stressed out about work, or an assignment I haven't finished, I dream that I'm either still doing that assignment, or I wake up thinking that I have fallen asleep at work.

When I am really mad at someone, that anger lingers in my dreams. I have dreams ranging from fighting to watching myself die in my dreams. I once got in an argument with my mother during which she punched me in the face. That night, I was dreaming (this part is stupid) that instead of counting sheep, I was counting the letters of the alphabet, and instead of jumping over a fence, they were jumping through a window. I was nearly done, but when the letter Z went, a shard of glass fell down, and stabbed through it. From that point on, in my dream, I referred to myself as Z-heart.

Like I said, I have really weird dreams when I lie down with a troubled mind.

I worry alot about romance and wheather or not I will ever find my Love. I don't think about it alot during the day but at night those thoughts catch up with me. I think for me, it is because I go to bed alone and I wish I had someone laying next to me.

not anymore i quit taking my anti depressant meds cold turkey about 5 months ago and I am not depressed and or worried anymore no longer have worried racing thoughts. I am actually functioning, working, living whereas before everything was a trial just getting out of bed was almost impossible, I was prone to crying jags and self hatred and insomnia and anxiety attacks now I have no more of ANY of that, I can handle stuff and not allow it to keep me awake at night.

When I can sleep at all...

Every night of my life I have some sort of potential disaster going through my head. I'm a trouble monger and if I don't have any real ones, I like to make them up... Keeps life interesting and actually helps me fall asleep.

Some people count sheep, I count potential disasters...

I have a vivid imagination... and I get bored easily.
