i have this zippo that i recieved used from a friend, and it was empty so it never lit and i dont know if it ever lit for my friend, but i read that rubbing alcahol will work in a zippo. so. i filled it up and pulled the wick out to the top of the chimney all fresh and everything, and the flint is good (sparks every time) but it just wont light. I even lit a match to it, and it still didnt work. why not?

Well geeze you filled it with Alcohol, open it empty it an let it dry out an then fill with lighter fluid.

Um, maybe cause you used rubbing alcohol. Try filling it with lighter fluid instead. If it still won't light, send it back to the Zippo company for repair. Those lighters have a lifetime guarantee.

Rubbing alcohol was the wrong thing to use....use lighter fluid
