I was advised to delete a program in order to download a security update. I went to add/delete and deleted, thinking I could just "add" it back when I was done. It was gone!! How do I find and reinstall?

you need to reinstall a program by finding the CD it came on or by re downloading the exe file from the web and reinstall by double clicking that. It wont just magically reinstall once uninstalled.

I had that one too. Tried AdAware, Spybot S&D, Windows Defender and Superantispyware. Even my Nod32 Antivirus couldn't shift it - well, it did but as you say it regenerates itself so Nod32 was continually deleting it, as a result my CPU usage was getting a beating. The only way I could fix it was to do a complete reinstall of Windows. Turns out Vundo was being installed via a dodgy program one of my kids downloaded from a torrent site. Good luck.

Well, unfortunately, the only way to go about reinstalling it is by actually re-downloading the program or by running setup from the CD that you got with the software.

If your computer came with the programs already installed by the computer manufacturer try this.

Go to Start>All Programs>PC Help and Tools>click on Applications Recovery>select Applications Installation>see if the program you need is here, if so, highlight it and click Install.

If your computer came with a set of Disks with the programs, you will need to install the programs using the disk.

Put the Installation CD into the CD Drive, it should start automatically and follow the instructions.
