The Bears defense is a good one but not as good as they were at the first of the year.Sorry to bust your balloon but I think this is Mannings year.

Considering the Colts beat the Patriots, which pretty much smash the Bears, the Colts have a good chance of winning. However, they BARELY beat the Patriots, which could mean there are certain weaknesses in them the bears need to expose early in the game.
The bears have a chance in winning, granted Grossman doesn't screw this one up and makes better decisions under pressure. The issue is that sometimes REALLY bad decisions are made much too frequently, costing the bears, the ball. As long as the Colts can pressure Grossman everytime, all the time, the Bears will lose very quickly. We will have to watch how strong the bears defense comes in when the colts have the ball each time. At this point, that is their BEST bet and WILL determine how the game will flow. The bears seem to also have a really bad habit lately that if they are winning, they tend to let their gaurd down and start letting the other team gain points in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Then they have to rush to catch up or keep ahead.
I am rooting for the bears since they are the pure underdogs in this game and I have been following them for most of the season. From day 1 everybody continues to say they will lose everytime they go into a game and that is the fire the bears need to tear the colts apart. GO BEARS! Screw the Colts!

I think the biggest mistake the Bears can make is think they can come out and run the football on every down. If they do that; they will get behind early. Do people forget that the Colts defense is finally healthy and thats part of the reason they are in the superbowl? I got a felling that the Bears are gonna make the Larry Johnson mistake against the Colts defense. And that will cost them a championship. The Colts as of late have stopped some of the best backs in the league! They held Larry Johnson to 32 yards rushing. And that was because Kansas City thought they could run the football. And Grossman will have trouble! He is going against an extremely different defense. This defense is lightining fast and the ball carrier or the QB will not even see them coming at times. And can you say INTERCEPTIONS? Grossman throws alot of them! And against the 2nd ranked pass defense; he will throw more!

If you're going to use the "one knee equals two feet" type of reasoning, that's fine. I submit however, that the passing game (Colts advantage) is better than the run game (Bears advantage) because it is a faster-tempo, quicker-striking attack. If you rely on special teams, with the exception of Hester, you can flip a coin as far as punting and coverage ability is concerned, so I humbly disagree with your "long Colts drives" assessment. Sure, anything can happen; that's why they play the game! But all in all, if the Colts passing game is on, the Bears will have to become one-dimensional (passing) in an effort to keep pace, and Grossman simply can't do it well enough, consistently enough. I say Colts in a TIGHT one, 27-26.

here is what i think..bears are going to break em. I think breaking there offense is key..they must destroy em early this means blitzing em hard. If they hope to win this one there have to be serious unjuries. I mean a direct attack on peyton manning. I am all for a broken leg or a fractured calvical is good. If they take him down the game is over. I am a strong believer that the best offense is a good defense. As in life you can defend and defend but you must not let your enemy back you into a corner. you must let there confidence burn..like when you have agreed to a fight after school and you dont boast at all right. you let the other guy brag it up what he is going to do to you. his confidence is huge and he will come right at you like a grizzly bear to maul the crap out of you right. but you allow his bravado to doom him.. he leaves himself open as he tries to rip the flesh from your bones right. and at that monent you punch him with everything you have right in his voice box right. Then the huge animal slumps. first thing you do is grab a hock of hair and knee him right in his nose and shatter it.then finish him with several beautiful kicks right to his nut sack right. If this isnt enough then beat him like a red headed step child! examples are made and bullies die..colts are all bravado and acting this way..now its time for some smash mouth football!
they need to do a Joe Thiesman on payton manning

i love the beras defence like how the recover the ball about 3 times a game, but the colts offence will dominate the bears.

ok first of all the colts are gonn'a beat the bears, what are u a bears fan lol.The bears defence is good but Tony Dungy will be able to pull it out. It is really hard to tell who will win this one, considering the balance of Colts good offence and the Bears good defence.I guess we'll just have to wait for gameday!

Excellent analysis of the match up. I think you are right about it coming down to the special teams. I just hope it is a Battle Royal that isn't won until the last seconds. We shall see.
