Upgrading to vista from XP. Will I lose my XP?

I plan on buying the vista home premium upgrade option for $160 dollars at Costco when released since I'm a gamer and my pc can handle it. . Do you think upgrading will render my original XP home disk serial # unusable after I upgrade. Id like to install my 5 year old XP Home OS on a laptop thats still running windows 2000.

You should have a new number with the Vista. Then use the XP on the Laptop, if, you have your # for it.

If I understand right... no it will not make your old serial invalid.
