i lent a friend of mine an ipod worth about 200 dollars as well as 80 dollars cash...through a verbal agreement that i was lending the two above stated items. now he refuses to give it back. can i take him to small claims over a verbal contract...i have all the necessary paperwork that says i own the ipod.

I believe you could, its likely though that if you sent a letter stating that you would take legal action within say 7 days of the letters date if the item isnt returned then its possible your friend may have a change of heart and you wouldnt have to proceed further. On the other hand the person may smash it and return it, say its lost etc the cost involved may out weigh the cost of the item and in my opinion, save your money buy a new one and never lend again.

Not likely, if your friend says you gave it to him it becomes a he said you said. Verbal agreements are worth the paper they are written on. Judge Judy is on TV & real court does not work that way, Sorry but a valuable lesson - only loan what you can afford to lose.

you could probably get the ipod back but you can kiss the 80 goodbye. The cost might not be worth it. Better just to take it back with extreme deadly force

Your word against his. If you still have your receipt and it was charged you stand a better chance. As for the cash don't get your hopes up.

yes, as long as you have paperwork showing the IPOD was yours and he doesnt deny borrowing it.
Would help if you had a witness :)

big time yes but next time do a agreement on paper with his sinecure, that was stupit what happened.
