Their were other detectives too. I remember they were all working on a case together. Then each one disappeared until there were only two left maybe. Then at the end the last detective was giving the clues to someone and the others would come in, (one from through the ceiling from a hot air balloon, one from through the window) and tell their clues and how they disappeared. Maybe it was a special episode or spoof movie because I can't find it with IMDB.com using Telly Savalas or "Starsky and Hutch" filmographys. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It was not "Muder by Death", Starsky and Hutch type charaters were defiantly invovled. Their were other detectives too. I remember they were all working on a case together. UPDATE: Tony Danza popped in to my head today and I thought I would give it a try. THE MOVIE WAS A SPOOF! It was "Murder Can Hurt You (1980) (TV).
Twenty 26 years later and I still barely remember it. It was not "Muder by Death", Starsky and Hutch type charaters were defiantly invovled. Their were other detectives too. You might be thinking of Murder By Death, but Telly Sevalas, David Soul (Starsky and Hutch), etc are not listed as part of the cast on IMBD.

Were the other detectives Mc Cloud (Dennis Weaver) & Mc Millan (Rock Hudson) from Mc Millan & Wife. The other 70's detective that comes to mind is Mannix (Mike Connors)
