I had the same problem..... it got to the point I would cry because I was so tired.... I finally asked my dr to PLEASE tell what I could take, give me anything! (Even begged my husband to bonk me on the head with a pan or anything!!) my dr. asked why I let it go on so long... some lack of sleep is expected... but if it is night after night? of only thirty minutes (on a good night?) not good... could affect the baby adversely.... so he prescribed one of the sleep aids... Ambien? I think? talk to your OBGYN, he/she will prescribe a safe one or tell you which over the counter one is okay.... your OB, and everyone asking you to tough it out? and to call/ask your dr. understand that the baby's health is key... and to achieve it? you NEED that rest too! so be sure to call dr. right away and stress just how little sleep you have had.... he/she WILL help you! you are not alone there... enjoy your time now... and treasure your life when your little one comes....! :) goodluck and god bless!

I had the same problem starting at 35 weeks and not only was I not getting any sleep at night but my legs would cramp up when I was in bed and oh my gosh did my back ache from being so big. I finally got tired of being tired and asked my doc if Tylenol PM was safe to take and he said yes, as long as I follow the reccomended dose and as long as I don't take it more than once a day, or night. I did take it, but found that I don't like the way it made me feel, I don't know how to explain it, but my advice is call your doc and make sure it okay for you to take, since every womans pregnancy is different. I am now 39 weeks and gave up on sleep. I cat nap when I can.

I know your tired but is your babies health worth a couple hours of sleep? Talk to other people you know that may have had trouble sleeping during pregnancy and see what suggestions they may have. You having trouble sleeping may have something to do with the babies possitioning or even something more serious. Talk to your doctor to get yourself and the baby checked out. They deal with these things everyday and would be your most reliable source. Please don't take the ty PM I know it is tempting but it will be over soon. Don't risk your childs health.

Don't. Tylenol is OK when you are pregnant, but the extra ingredients in the PM version are not. Ask your doctor, they are plenty of safe meds you can take instead.
